Is Running After Perfection Keeping You Single?

Love life of humans and animals

Do you know swan mate for life? And if a swan dies the other spend long time in mourning and may remain alone. Agapornis also called lovebirds, forms a strong, lifelong bonds with their partner. Foxes are animals that mate for life and stay close to their family.

Why is that these animals found a partner with which they can spend the rest of the life together and we as a human with the supreme most communication skills and connection technology are struggling to find a real connection. What is the problem behind it?

Moat humans desire to have a partner who is perfect. We dream of someone who checks every box: looks, career, personality, hobbies, and shared interests. Striving for high standards in relationships is healthy, chasing an unrealistic idealis comes to anyone naturally and I feel there is nothing wrong with this you just have to understand , is there any such thing as a perfect person?

Why is it tough to date?

Everyone has their own unique qualities and imperfections. You might meet someone who is charming, engaging, and attractive but doesn’t quite match your ideal height. Or perhaps you encounter someone who’s tall and good-looking but lacks certain traits you value deeply. The idea of finding a partner who perfectly embodies every desirable quality and personality trait can feel overwhelming, especially in today’s fast-paced dating world. Adding to this pressure is the constant exposure to seemingly perfect relationships on social media, and the romantic bonds in movies we all have seen growing up which can amplify feelings of inadequacy or frustration in your own search for love.

Dating today has become increasingly complicated, largely due to dating apps that encourage people to seek their “ideal” match, often leading to endless comparisons and indecision. Adding to the confusion are modern relationship terms like “situationship,” “we’re just seeing each other,” “it’s complicated,” “open relationship,” and “friends with benefits.” These dynamics have made it harder to establish genuine, meaningful connections. As someone belonging to this era I myself find it tough to keep up with what these terms truly mean.

What can we do ?

  1. Avoid comparisons and the influence of social media or movies.
  2. Prioritize self-growth and self-awareness.
  3. Focus on building a strong relationship rather than chasing perfection.

Why Imperfections Can Be Attractive

Imperfections make people real. Authenticity is the start of true intimacy, trust, and connection. When we allow ourselves and others to be human, relationships feel more fulfilling. A great relationship isn’t about finding someone perfect but about finding someone whose imperfections you can embrace and grow with together. There is no such thing as a perfect person but yes there is a perfect relationship and two people make it , build it.

And also perfect relationship is not stranger to fights and disagreements , its goana happen but it’s perfect cause people in it knows how to deal with it. A perfect relationship isn’t defined by the absence of fights or disagreements but by how those conflicts are handled.  What makes a relationship truly strong and “perfect” is the mutual respect, patience, and commitment to understanding each other during those tough moments.
