The Story Behind “Would You Date You?”

Dr. Stephanie Bot’s Journey to Transforming Dating

Dr. Stephanie Bot, a licensed psychologist with over 20 years of experience in relationships and personal growth, didn’t set out to create a dating course. But after years of helping clients work through the emotional turmoil of failed relationships, self-doubt, and frustration with the dating scene, she realized there was a common theme with almost every person: people were searching for the “right” partner without focusing on the most important person in the equation—themselves.

The Lightbulb Moment

As a psychologist, Dr. Bot noticed a recurring pattern in her clients’ struggles. They would repeatedly come in heartbroken, frustrated, or confused about their dating lives. Most blamed their partners or the dating scene. But as she dug deeper, Dr. Bot found the real issue often lay within the clients themselves. They were seeking someone else to fill a void they hadn’t addressed in their own lives. They were unclear on their own values, emotionally stuck in past patterns, and often struggling with self-worth.

That’s when Dr. Bot had a powerful realization: lasting, fulfilling relationships don’t start with finding the right partner—they start with becoming the kind of person you’d want to date. She had spent years helping people work on themselves in therapy, but wanted to reach more people with an evidence-based approach  to improving their dating and relationship experiences.

From Frustration to Empowerment

Dr. Bot understood the frustration and disappointment her clients faced. As a psychologist, she had witnessed first-hand how much heartache bad relationships could cause—and how much time people wasted trying to “fix” relationships that were never right from the start. Many of her clients were stuck in a cycle of unhealthy dating patterns, often ending up with partners who didn’t value them, or they kept settling for less than they deserved.

But rather than focusing on fixing the relationship itself, Dr. Bot saw the need to focus on the individual’s growth, self-awareness, and confidence—because the healthier and happier you are as a person, the more likely you are to attract the right partner.

The Birth of “Would You Date You?”

Drawing on her extensive experience in psychology, relationship coaching, and personal development, Dr. Stephanie Bot decided to create a course that addressed the core issues people were facing in their dating lives. She wanted to help people stop relying on luck or external factors to find happiness in love. Instead, she wanted to empower them to take control of their own lives and dating experiences by becoming the best version of themselves.

That’s how “Would You Date You?” was born—a dating course rooted in the belief that self-understanding, self-awareness, and self-improvement are the keys to finding a meaningful relationship.

Today, Dr. Stephanie Bot’s course has helped countless individuals transform their dating lives, attract fulfilling relationships, and, most importantly, become the best version of themselves.
